Never tan after a surgery without a doctor's consent. Spray tanning can cause infection to open wounds. The solution may not absorb through scars. The spray tan may disguise the appearance of scars and stretch marks. Dry skin tends to absorb the tanning solution quickly. The skin also exfoliates faster so the tan may fade faster and more unevenly.
The excess oils on the skin surface create a barrier to the DHA which may cause the tan to develop lighter.
Clients may have larger facial/back pores due to age or oily skin. This may cause excess solution to pool in the pore and look like blackheads. If a client has large pores, it's helpful for your tanning specialist to gently pat with a soft cloth or disposable towel as this will help blend the solution.
These are caused by UV exposure and may darken slightly when spray tanned. Barrier cream can be applied prior to help.
Although it's not likely to happen, this can happen. Should this happens, please seek medical attention immediately.
Wait 24 hours for it to fully develop after rinsing. If it's still not dark enough, we can try another solution at your next appointment.
Try rinsing again, soak in a bath tub, or sit in a sauna/jacuzzi. These methods will remove some of the bronzer to lighten the color.
This happens because of dry skin. If the skin is not well hydrated or if you exfoliate unevenly it can cause the lizard looking skin. This can also happen if there is an old tan underneath. Make sure to exfoliate and moisturize the day before.
The length of your spray tan depends on the maintenance afterwards. Most people notice their tan begin to fade after about 4 to 7 days. Moisturizing and staying hydrated are two important factors that help maintain color. Refrain from showing in hot water to prolong your tan as well.
NO SOAP. A really slow rinse with luke-warm water is best. Only use your hands to remove the bronzer, and focus your attention on your legs, behind your arms, in your ears, and around your nose. The #1 cause for streaks is that the bronzer was not rinsed off properly and can stain the skin for a few days, so it is important that the first rinse is thorough. Pat yourself dry with a soft towel afterwards.
Wipe the areas you don't wish to have solution with alcohol pads. The alcohol helps remove the solution.
Wait 24 hours. For best results, use soap only on lady parts to avoid depleting the color. Also, minimal scrubbing and shaving since it can strip the tan away.
Yes, unfortunately in some instances the tan may stain your sheets or clothing but we recommend if you are sleeping in your tan while it develops that you wear full pajamas, to minimize the risk of staining your sheets. This also helps minimize skin to skin contact (ie: hands touching skin.) The bronzers are just like make up and can be removed from sheets/clothing and washed following the care instructions.

Tanning should not be done 1 to 2 weeks prior to a laser appointment, and 4 days post laser.
New mommas, be cautious with carrying your baby right after the tan as the bronzer can get on the baby. For mothers who are breast feeding, it is recommended to spray tan with a full coverage bra to cover nipple area so that breast feeding can be easily done after without worry of bronzer getting on the baby.
